Slider - Hawaiian Chicken Sliders

It s generally agreed throughout the world that a sandwich is two pieces of bread with something in-between. As if we were not confused enough, we have tried to list sandwiches by type: sandwich, burgers, grilled cheese, submarine, sausage (includes hot dogs), stuffed, open-face.

Slider - Hawaiian Chicken Sliders

3 cups shredded cooked chicken rotisserie, slow cooked or grilled
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon minced garlic
6 slices Provolone cheese
3/4 cup pineapple chunks
6 slices Mozzarella cheese
Barbecue Sauce homemade or storebought
1 12 count package Hawaiian or Soft Dinner Rolls
grated Parmesan cheese for topping (optional)
For the melted butter topping
1/3 cup butter melted
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, toss the shredded chicken with salt, pepper, soy sauce and minced garlic. Split your slider buns in half, place one half in the bottom of a 11x7" or 9x13" baking dish. Place slices of mozzarella,on the bottom layer, top with shredded chicken followed pineapple chunks. Top with slices of provolone cheese and some barbecue sauce. Place the other half of the rolls on top. Mix together the butter with garlic powder and poppy seeds and brush over tops of rolls. Cover with tinfoil and bake in preheated oven for about 5-8 minutes or until cheese is melted. Slice into individual sliders and serve immediately with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan, if desired. Sliders are best warm and fresh.
