What's the difference between a cocktail and a drink? Hell, we don't know! As near as can be said, a drink is alcohol, a mixer, and (or not) ice. A cocktail is something carefully constructed using different ingredients and with finesse. Sometimes, but not always, cocktails are served in stemware, fancy glasses. You be the judge.
1 1/2 fluid ounces vodka
3 fluid ounces sweet and sour mix
1 cup carbonated water
1 slice orange, garnish
1 maraschino cherry, garnish
ice
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine vodka and sweet and sour. Shake well, then strain into a tall glass full of ice. Fill the glass with carbonated water. Cut orange slice into quarters.
