Sauce (Pasta) - Butter Mushroom Pasta Sauce

Sauce (Pasta) - Butter Mushroom Pasta Sauce

2 sticks butter
1 large onion (chopped)
1 (8 oz.) package of fresh sliced mushrooms
4 cans (8 oz.) tomato sauce
2 to 3 cloves of garlic, minced
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. red pepper
1 Tbsp. sweet, dried basil
1/2 cup of water or more if sauces gets too thick

Melt butter. Saute onion and garlic in the melted butter to a golden color. Add mushrooms, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, red pepper, basil and 1/2 cup water. Mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for at least 20 minutes. Serve spooned over your favorite pasta.
