Mixed (Canned) - Joseph's Storehouse Hunker Down Vegetable Salad
Posted: 22 Apr 2020, 06:39
IMPORTANT Preliminary Note: This is a "hybrid" salad built from the ground up (no pun intended) using canned vegetables from your pantry as building blocks. The recipe is basic but you can add any fresh vegetables you might have on hand such as cucumbers, onions, FIRM chopped tomatoes, celery, and so on. Let your taste be the guide. Nothing is chiseled in stone. Experiment!
1 can (14.5-oz) chopped mixed vegetables, drained and rinsed
1 can (14.5-oz) whole kernel corn, drained and rinsed
1 can (14.5-oz) cut green beans, drained and rinsed
Mayonnaise
Sprinkle of Italian seasoning (to taste)
Open cans, drain and rinse vegetables then place in a medium-size salad bowl Add amount of mayonnaise to your taste and mix well. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top. Note: This household does NOT use added salt, however we have cheated a couple times and added red pepper flakes and [maybe] some chopped sweet pickles. Technically you can make this salad without any fresh vegetables and from what you have on hand in Joseph's Storehouse.. That's what pantries are for.
