Candy - Deep-Fried Mars Bars

1 cup sifted flour
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp salt
1⁄4 tsp baking powder
1⁄4 cup ice-cold seltzer or soda water
4 caramel-covered candy bars

Blend flour, egg, salt, baking powder, and seltzer until smooth and dip candy bars into batter. Heat oil in a deep fat fryer to 375F and fry bars until golden. Drain on paper towels.
