Asparagus - Grilled Asparagus

Vegetable dishes are generally filed according to the primary or main ingredient. This is not an exact science but in the case of some vegetable salads, we'll put a copy here if it has another main vegetable component other than basic salad ingredients. NOTE REGARDING PICKLES & FERMENTED: Pickled and fermented vegetables are filed here; pickled or fermented fruit, meat and seafood are filed in their respective categories. Additionally, all beans (including green and wax) are filed in the bean category.

Asparagus - Grilled Asparagus

Post by Chowhound »

asparagus-feature.jpg
1 lb fresh asparagus
2 tbsp olive oil
kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper

Heat your BBQ grill to high and scrape to clean. Trim up the asparagus spears as mentioned above or trim with a peeler. Gently toss with the olive oil to coat and salt and pepper them on a tray. Grill for 3-5 minutes on each side until crisp and lightly charred. Be careful to do them across the grill grates so they don't roll in and get stuck or drop down and burn. Remove from grill and let cool slightly, enjoy!
