What's the difference between a cocktail and a drink? Hell, we don't know! As near as can be said, a drink is alcohol, a mixer, and (or not) ice. A cocktail is something carefully constructed using different ingredients and with finesse. Sometimes, but not always, cocktails are served in stemware, fancy glasses. You be the judge.
1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 ounce simple syrup
2 ounces gin
4 or 5 slices cucumber
Club soda, to top Mint sprig
In the bottom of a mixing glass, smash cucumber slices (slightly), lemon juice and simple syrup. Add gin, along with ice, and shake. Strain over fresh ice into a Collins glass, then top with soda. Garnish with the mint sprig.
