Brownie - German Chocolate Cake Brownies
1 C. evaporated milk
1 egg
½ C. butter
1 pkg. caramel candies, unwrapped
2 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 C. chopped walnuts
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it. In a large bowl beat cake mix, ⅔ cup evaporated milk, and egg. Pour half the batter into the baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Heat caramels and remainder of evaporated milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Continue stirring until all the caramels are melted. Pour half the chocolate chips and melted caramel over the partially cooked brownies. Spoon the remainder of the batter on top of the caramel and then repeat the process. Top off with chopped nuts. Place back in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the brownies are cooked all the way through. Let cool before serving.
