Biscuits - Bloomin' Biscuits

A little about categorizing bread. Our system is not scientific by a long shot. We've placed them into table, flat, dessert, and fried. Table bread may include loaves of sandwich-type bread or something designed to serve as a loaf or dinner bun at the table. Flat is generally un-yeasted bread that is flat (duh!). Fried can be pan-fried or deep-fried. Dessert is for delectables such as banana bread. The words dressing and stuffing are interchangeable, depending where you live. Many will contain bread, others may not. This is dizzying.

3 tbsp. butter, melted
1/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. grated parmesan
1 tbsp. dried parsley
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. sweet paprika
Large pinch of cayenne pepper
Kosher salt
1 can large biscuits
8-oz. mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/4" pieces

Preheat oven to 375° and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a small bowl, combine butter, parmesan, parsley, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Working with one biscuit at a time, flatten the biscuit round to about 1/8” thickness. Cut 12 slits, ¼" from the center, evenly spaced around the edges of the biscuit. Sprinkle with parmesan mixture. Place one piece of cheese on the outside edge of every other segment and wrap the segment around the cheese, rolling towards the center. Gently lift up the remaining segments and place a piece of cheese under the segment, then roll the segment around the cheese, this time rolling backwards towards the center. Repeat with remaining biscuits. Evenly space rounds on prepared baking sheets. Place one piece of cheese in the center of each biscuit. Brush biscuits with remaining butter mixture and sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons Parmesan. Bake until golden brown, 13 to 16 minutes. Serve warm.
